Activity Sheet Answer Key
What Do You See and Hear?
1. Did you hear any instruments other than bells and chimes?
You probably heard a cymbal, a slapstick, jingle bells, an electronic piano/keyboard, and a drum beat (played electronically)
2. How many bells do you think we have on our tables?
We have 216 bells! (And 73 chimes.)
3. How much do you think our biggest bell weighs?
The largest bell we are playing today, the F2, weighs about 13 or 14 pounds!
4. What metal do you think handbells are made out of?
Bells are made out of bronze, which is a mixture of copper and tin. (Handchimes are made out of aluminum.)
5. Why do you think our group is named Virginia Bronze?
Because we are based out of Northern Virginia, and play lots of concerts and do a lot of activities there, and handbells are made of bronze! Also, many higher level handbell groups have "bronze" in their name.
