Why We Need Your Support

Virginia Bronze relies on the support from our patrons and donors in order to promote Handbells as an instrument, produce high quality concerts, and provide ringing opportunities for handbell musicians looking to play demanding music. One of the unique challenges of a Handbell ensemble is the cost of the instrument. Although there are multiple bells, collectively, they are considered one instrument. Unlike orchestras or chamber groups, it is unrealistic to expect each performer to have their own set of bells, thus it is up to the organization to purchase them.
We are working to build our instrument so that we have a full 7 octave set of Handbells and Chimes. Our Capital Campaign for the lower 6th and 7th octaves of the Chimes has reached about two-thirds of our goal and we purchased the lower 6th octave earlier this year. We also need the lower 7th octave of handbells (7 bells) which cost between $4,000 - $6,700 for each bell. How You Can HelpYour donation of any size is always greatly appreciated and will help Virginia Bronze to continue our programs and concerts. If you would like to donate towards our Chime Capital Campaign, any amount is welcomed, but for each $1000.00 donated we will dedicate one of the new chimes to you or your organization and provide two complimentary tickets to an upcoming concert. Virginia Bronze is registered 501(c)(3) organization and all donations are tax deductible. All donations of $50.00 or more will automatically receive a donation receipt.
